I dare say the vast majority would say they were “smart enough”. And, indeed, they certainly are. So, the question then becomes, why do so many people who are smart enough believe others who may or may not be just a bit “smarter” have the answers to the world’s problems? I have often wondered what makes people believe 9 people in black robes have the wisdom to decide how 300+ million people should live their lives especially when it is known well beforehand how 4 of them are going to vote on any question before one word of argument is made – this seems to me the very antithesis of wisdom.
