There is a level of either dishonesty or stupidity or rather both in this country that is hard to believe.

‘White privilege’ neighborhood vows to stop calling police – and crime rates immediately soar

|

MINNEAPOLIS, MN- Activists, largely a group of white liberals, in the Powderhorn Park neighborhood of Minneapolis vowed to stop calling the police over property crimes.  They did this in reaction to the death of George Floyd.

What’s more, they have even included being car-jacked as a reason not to call the police.

Much to the surprise of just about nobody else, the crime rate soared with the local park being overrun with homeless people, with a camp of over 300 turning a children’s playground into a dangerous encampment of indigents.

Thursday, there was a second shooting in the neighborhood that has embraced the “defund the police” mantra.

Three (reported) sexual assaults have taken place at the encampment, reported on June 26, June 28 and July 5.  A man has been charged for the June 28 assault and an arrest was also made in the July 5 incident, however the suspect is still at large for the assault taking place on June 26.

With Powderhorn Park residents refusing to call police, things took a turn for the worse.

Almost immediately, traffic increased, the park turned into a large encampment and drug dealers came out in force, unabated, to meet their clients at this new “safe space.”  It’s certainly safe for them, but maybe not so much for the residents.

The residents, who say they are “checking their privilege” and “protecting people of color” will not involve law enforcement, but if someone is put in physical danger, they will seek help from the American Indian Movement.

That movement was founded in Minneapolis in 1968 to address issues with native Americans and according to MSN, they have been policing their own communities for many years.

Mitchell Erickson, a resident of the neighborhood, said he regretted calling 911 when two black teenagers cornered him a block away from his home, held a gun to his chest and demanded his car keys.

Erickson said he mistakenly handed over his house keys, and the frustrated teens left him only to steal another car a few blocks away.

Erickson said in a text message to a reporter:

“Been thinking more about it, I regret calling the police. It was my instinct but I wish it hadn’t been. I put those boys in danger of death by calling the cops.”

He then went on to say:

“Yeah I know and yeah it was scary but the cops didn’t really have much to add after I called them. I haven’t been forced to think like this before. So I would have lost my car. So what? At least no one would have been killed.”

The decision not to call the police and to allow the encampment to take over the park has created a dangerous situation for the residents, which by their behavior, it seems they think they deserve, just for being white.

At least common sense hasn’t escaped all residents, as one mother, Carrie Nightshade quoted in the New York Times appears to be protecting her children.

While explaining that she no longer allows her 12-and nine-year-old children to play in the park by themselves, Carrie said:

“I’m not being judgmental. It’s not personal. It’s just not safe.”

Of the two shootings, one has left a pregnant woman dead, and one of the rapes involved a minor child.

Even though it’s sanctioned by the city, it’s obvious that the people there don’t want the world to know what’s really going on, as they have tried to ban video and photography.

A mass exodus of law abiding citizens is sure to happen soon, unless they are so filled with guilt over their “white privilege” that they  sacrifice themselves and their families to the criminal elements they have allowed to rule.

Rising crime rates, and disregard for police, comes as no surprise in Minnesota, as its own governing officials have publicly supported Antifa.

Social media posts have a way of haunting some folks, for better or worse. Back in 2018, Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison made a post on Twitter showing off a copy of the book “Antifa: The Anti-Fascist Handbook.”

Coincidentally, there’s heavy speculation that Antifa have been among the crowds that have engaged in riotous acts in Minneapolis.

Even AG Bill Barr was among those who said that there seems to be a lot in common with the riots among the protests and “Antifa-like tactics.”

During a statement delivered on May 30th, Barr said:

“Unfortunately, with the rioting that is occurring in many of our cities around the country, the voices of peaceful protests are being hijacked by violent radical elements. Groups of outside radical agitators are exploiting the situation to pursue their own separate and violent agenda.”

Barr has reason to believe that the violent elements showcased during these demonstrations are possible strategic deployments to incite anarchy:

“In many places, it appears the violence is planned, organized, and driven by anarchic and leftist extremist groups, far-left extremist groups using Antifa-like tactics, many of whom traveled outside the state to promote the violence.”

Going back to the January 3rd, 2018 Twitter post by Ellison, which was deleted shortly after it was posted, CBS had even covered a story on its then present controversy.

Thanks to the WayBack Machine, an archived version of the 2018 post still exists.

'White privilege' neighborhood vows to stop calling police - and crime rates immediately soar

Ellison was recently quoted as telling Minnesota residents to not react to the National Guard “the way you might react to the Minneapolis Police Department.”

That’s not exactly the most helpful statement, as it essentially affords a forgiving tone to the manner all officers are currently being treated in Minneapolis at the moment.

The Minnesota AG further cited Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as a means to almost justify what is happening in his state:

“Martin Luther King [Jr.] said many years ago that riot is the way that the unheard get heard. He didn’t condone it, but he said to the nation — as a person who always protested peacefully — that don’t just dismiss that and ignore it, and relegate it to just criminality and bad behavior.”

Yet, many of the targeted areas that the Minneapolis rioters have hit were not only subjected to criminal acts, but they don’t seem to make a lot of sense in their destruction.

Without condoning any of the criminal acts, it would at least make more sense if only the police station or homes of the officers involved in Floyd’s arrest attracted riotous and destructive acts.

But that isn’t the case.

Businesses that were looted, destroyed, or set ablaze included several Targets, NAPA Auto Parts, AutoZone, Foot Locker, Palm Beach Tan, Laddatude Tattoo, Iron Door Pub, and hundreds more. All these businesses literally had zero to do with any anger stemming from the death of George Floyd.

What the destruction of the businesses do have in common is a tactic associated with far-left militants who preach anti-capitalism and overall anarchist ideologies.

With Minnesota’s AG having showcased a form of adoration for Antifa back in 2018, he’s now being looked at and criticized by many as to whether he essentially supports the tactics of what is plaguing Minneapolis.

What’s even more ridiculous, Ellison was alleged to have claimed that the likes of white nationalists are to blame for the riots, according to Jack Posobiec.

Keep in mind, there’s currently zero evidence to support that the ongoing riots in Minneapolis were in any way influenced or attended by any group of white nationalists.

Countless pieces of video evidence show one of two things in Minneapolis: either groups of demonstrators of all background and ethnicities protesting, or people engaging in violence, arson, or criminal damage.
