This is part of the Friday, May 12, 2017, News Roundup from the Austin Chronicle. This is not an opinion piece, this is supposed to be news reporting. How can this person even have a job at a news organization let alone be allowed to write news reports? Seriously, the editor who allowed this, “(read: bigoted Christian)”, to pass should be fired also. I quote:
“After two delays, the House took up HB 3859 on May 9. One of the most powerful religious liberty bills filed this session, HB 3859 would let child welfare providers deny foster care and adoption rights to queers, Muslims, Jews, and more, due to “religious” (read: bigoted Christian) beliefs. After several hours of debate, the House passed the bill, filed by Rep. James Frank, R-Wichita Falls, by a vote of 94-51.”
Everyone knows this paper is a worthless rag but goodness. It is wonderful when those that hate Christians identify themselves and the irony of accusing those you hate of bigotry while not even realizing your very words condemn you of bigotry is oh, so, sweet, but there really is no place for that sort of self-identification in a news report.
