The reason for this effort was clear: The paper’s failure to anticipate the outcome of the 2016 election meant that it didn’t have a firm grasp of the country it covers. Dean Baquet and others have admitted as much on various occasions. The priority in Opinion was to help redress that critical shortcoming. I was honored to be part of that effort, led by James Bennet. I am proud of my work as a writer and as an editor. Among those I helped bring to...

What is the most striking aspect of this article? Is it the amount of money New Yorkers are willing to pay for private elementary school tuition? Is it that private schools in NYC are hard to get into? Is it the fact that so many wealthy people have fled the city? NOPE. None of the preceding. The most striking aspect of this article is that those people who vote and vote and vote for people who run the worst schools in the country continue to vote for them. Why Washington, D.C. Is In Trouble: 7,780 Public Employees With $100,000+ Salaries Cost Taxpayers $1 Billion Authored by Adam Andrzejewski via Forbes.com, Local politicians in Washington, D.C. claim a $1.5 billion budget deficit due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Shared History of NAACP and Black Lives Matter By Allen West | July 6, 2020 | 5:18am EDT “Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.”(Quote attributed to George Santayana) If American Blacks are to truly overcome, the time has come for them to stop being driven into irrational emotionalism. Somehow, in the Black community, reason and rational thought have taken a backseat to the acceptance of thoughts, perspectives, and ideologies that are not consistent with the “proclaimed” principles and values over which many in the black community shout “hallelujah” on one particular day of the week — Sunday.
