AOC: The Republican Men Behind These Anti-Abortion Bills ‘Don’t Know the First Thing About a Woman’s Body Outside of the Things They Want from it’
Hannah BleauGeorgia Gov. Kemp recently signed the “fetal heartbeat bill,” which essentially bans abortions after a fetal heartbeat is detected. (So about 6 weeks).
“Georgia is a state that values life,” Kemp said. “We protect the innocent, we champion the vulnerable, we stand up and speak for those that are unable to speak for themselves.”
Guess who’s outraged? AOC. In a bizarre set of tweets, she made a weird comparison between an early pregnancy and late period.
For context, this kicks in within days of a typical at-home test working.
If you were sexually assaulted (stress delays cycle), took a morning-after pill (throws off cycle), or have an irregular cycle, you‘d have no idea.
There are a TON of ways this law ignores basic biology.

She- a member of the “there are more than two genders” party- wants to talk about basic biology?
HAHAHA. Good one. Sit this one out maybe?
It’s almost like she doesn’t understand that being late on you period can have many causes… one of which is pregnancy. And you can buy these pee sticks at the drug store that show if you are pregnant days before your period is late…

Bingo.
A heartbeat is a heartbeat. Lifeless “blobs of cells” don’t have those.
This has been today’s science lesson. You’re welcome.
